Google Sheets: setup guide

Turn a Google Sheet into client links: one order per row, and a CraftWay menu that creates each link. Nothing to install.

⏱ About 5 minutes

Before you start: an API key

Each integration signs in to CraftWay with an API key. In CraftWay open Setup → API, give the key a name (for example Google Sheets) and click Create API key. Copy the key straight away — it's shown only once.

Use a separate key for each integration or teammate, so you can switch one off without breaking the others.

Copy the script from CraftWay

In CraftWay open Setup → Plugins. On the Google Sheets card, open Prefer to paste the script yourself? and click Copy script. The script already contains your CraftWay address; your API key is never stored in the code.

Paste it into your sheet

Open your Google Sheet (or a new one) and choose Extensions → Apps Script. Delete everything in the editor, paste the script (Ctrl+V) and click Save.

Reload and set up the sheet

Reload the sheet — a CraftWay menu appears. Choose Set up sheet (add columns) to add the columns, then Set API key… and paste your API key.

Allow the script the first time

The first time, Google asks you to authorize the script: choose your account, then Advanced → Go to Untitled project (unsafe) → Allow. Google shows this warning for any script you add yourself.

Add orders and create links

Fill in one order per row. Select a row and choose Generate link for selected row — the client link appears in column E. Refresh all rows updates every row at once.

Starting a new tracker? File → Make a copy keeps the CraftWay menu, so you don't have to paste the script again.
